Community Rail Information Boards Arrive and Commissioned

On Tuesday 13th November 2012 the first of the Leeds-Lancaster-Morecambe Community Rail Partnership (LLMCRP) information boards on the line, were planted at Bentham adjacent to the station entrance.  You certainly cannot miss them, thanks to their bright red colour and the bold Partnership heading, 'The Bentham Line' which is being used to promote the route, along with the LLMCRP logo containing a photograph of Ingleborough.

It was possible to install the information boards thanks to a grant from the Designated Community Rail Development Fund obtained by the LLMCRP, following the recent service designation of  the Bentham Line.  Additional funding was provided by Northern Rail, North Yorkshire County Council and the Community Rail Partnership.

The three frames will be used to house a poster illustrating the history of Bentham Station, a community noticeboard for local and rail events, and details of the local rail organisations.

It is hoped that similar boards will be erected at other stations along the Bentham Line in the near future.
